This great vegetable oil is one of the most usedcarrier oils in aromatherapy massage, and this is understandablesince it has a fine texture, is easily absorbed, and helps to leavethe skin soft and satiny smooth yet it is non-greasy and easilyabsorbed.

Sweet Almond Oil- Excellent as a massage oil, this luxurious oil isalso wonderful in soap. Use it in your cold process recipes at 5%and enjoy the moisturizing properties of this light oil. SweetAlmond Oil is renowned for its rich concentration of oleic andlinoleic essential fatty acids which help to give it unequalledpenetrating and restructuring properties. This oil also makes anunparalleled carrier for salt (for use in salt scrubs).

General information

Sweet almond oil is obtained from the driedkernels of the almond tree and it is an excellent emollient(softening and soothing to the skin) and also helps the skin tobalance its loss and absorption of moisture.

It is further a great moisturizer suitable forall skin types, helps relieve irritation, inflammation and itching,and is greatly lubricating and because it is not an overly fastpenetrating oil, it is a good massage medium to use to help spreadthe oil and essential oil mixture, while still allowing you time todo a good massage before it is absorbed by the skin.

Not only does almond oil help protect thesurface of the skin, but has great value to act as an emollient,skin soother and softener while conditioning the skin and promotinga clear young looking complexion, also helps to relieve muscularaches and pains.

It has a rich concentration of oleic andlinoleic essential fatty acids, and although mostly used on its ownas a massage carrier oil, it also works well by diluting with 10%wheatgerm oil to help give it a longer shelf life.

Sweet almond oil is one of the most popularcarrier oils, since it is non-greasy, spreads easily and also isgreat for nourishing the skin.
